Rethinking the Look of Things No. 39 - Extra Seating-Tucked Away

If you have ever limited a guest list because you didn't have enough seating for all that you wished to invite, it's time to rethink that.  You will be pleasantly surprised to learn that rethinking placement of extra seating or even extra tables next to seating isn't as hard as you might believe.

Keep in mind that if you can find 12"-16" of space you can add extra seating or tables.  Really!  Consider the console that is pretty standard in a foyer being a great place to tuck away two accent benches or garden seats.

Or accent chairs or ottomans flanking the console.  Viola!  Extra seating, tucked away until needed.

Treat this extra seating as accessories.  It will be easier than you could image.  Rethink wishing your rooms were bigger.  Or that you would entertain more if you had more space.  Because the best get together is the more intimate one.  Where conversation with dear friends is cultivated in a relaxed surrounding.

Make adding extra seating fun.  Choose great designs, fabulous finishes, fabrics that make for great conversation, and don't forget comfort.  Rethinking extra seating in this fresh approach will open up the possibilities of adding some of your favorite pieces to your home.  Tucked away like a treasure, to be used when an extra seat or a small table is needed.
